This recording of the Durham dialect contains key features that we would immediately recognise as coming from the North East of England, including dark ls, that more flattened slightly elongated vowel quality on words like so and know and the glottal plosion that is so recognisable in Geordie as well. The dialect is more standardised perhaps but is still a good example of the area.
